Terms of Service

1. Who we are
TravelShield (travelshield.app) is provided by SCIÉNTIO laboratories, spol. s r.o., Tallerova 4, 811 02 Bratislava – mestská časť Staré Mesto, Slovak Republic, IČO 52 053 407, registered in the Commercial Register of the Municipal Court Bratislava III, section Sro, insert 132999/B (“we”, “us”). 2. What TravelShield is, and what it is not
TravelShield is an AI personal bodyguard service. It gives you personal security guidance: briefings for your trips and assessments of the place where you are, with threat levels, instructions, safe places nearby and local emergency numbers.
TravelShield gives guidance. It is not an emergency service, it does not send help, and it cannot guarantee your safety. Its assessments are made with artificial intelligence from information that can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and situations can change at any moment. Always use your own judgement, follow the instructions of local authorities, and in an emergency call the local emergency number.
3. Your account
You sign in with a code sent to your email, and you can add a passkey (Face ID, fingerprint or screen lock). You must be at least 18 years old to buy credits. Keep access to your email and devices safe; you are responsible for what happens in your account. You can delete your account at any time in “Your account”.
4. Credits
- Briefings and checks are paid with prepaid credits. 100 credits correspond to €1. The number of credits each service uses is shown in “How credits work” before you buy.
- Credits are bought in packs through our payment provider Stripe. Prices include any applicable taxes. The supplier is not registered for VAT.
- Credits never expire. They cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to another account.
- If a briefing or check cannot be finished, its credits are returned to your balance automatically.
- Answers already prepared for the same spot within the last few hours may be shown again without using credits.
5. Right of withdrawal
Credits are digital content made available to you immediately after payment. When you buy, you expressly ask for immediate availability and acknowledge that you thereby lose your 14-day right of withdrawal under EU consumer law. This does not affect your rights if the service is not provided as described; write to support@travelshield.app and we will put it right or refund unused credits.
6. Using TravelShield fairly
Do not misuse the service: no attempts to break, overload or copy it, no automated access, no use to harm or follow other people, and no unlawful use. We may suspend accounts that do so.
7. Liability
We provide TravelShield with care, but because of its nature (section 2) we do not promise that every assessment is complete or correct. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for decisions you take based on it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for intent and gross negligence, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
8. Changes
We may improve TravelShield and update these terms. If a change affects you materially, we will tell you before it applies. Credits you already bought keep their value.
9. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Slovak Republic, without depriving consumers of the protection of the mandatory law of their country of residence. Please contact us first; we will try to solve any problem quickly. Consumers can also turn to the alternative dispute resolution body for consumer disputes in Slovakia, the Slovak Trade Inspection (Slovenská obchodná inšpekcia, soi.sk).
